Explora Journeys announces an update to the entry into service schedule for its first ship, the EXPLORA I. In this regard, the ship's maiden voyage will now depart from Southampton, UK, on July 17, 2023.

“However, given the challenging situation the world is facing today, including the complications in the global supply chain, we have had to make the difficult decision, in agreement with the shipyard, Fincantieri, to update the commissioning schedule for our ship. The additional time in the shipyard and at sea before her maiden voyage will be used to ensure that EXPLORA I can and does fully deliver on our brand promise and vision, without compromising in any way the quality and luxury that are our primary focus.”.
Travel agents and their clients, as well as guests who booked directly with the brand, have already been informed of the new inaugural trip dates. Guests have been offered a full refund, as well as the full value of the booking offered as FJC (Future Travel Credit). Travel agencies and advisors will have their full commission protected, already paid on the original booked trip, and will receive their commission on the reserved FJC value. This compensation for guests and the treatment of travel agent commissions are fully in line with the standards Explora Journeys has established since its launch in June 2021.
