The Brodosplit shipyard signs a contract with the American company Storylines and will be in charge of building the enormous vessel, whose retail value is estimated at 1.5 billion dollars.
Brodosplit could participate in the construction of the first cruise ship with 547 apartments, according to a press release provided by Storylines of Miami; the contract with Brodosplit has already been signed.
Brodosplit will build a 232.5-meter-long ship in the city of Split, which will be the first fully ecologically sustainable ship, and which should be delivered in 2025.
“We are delighted to partner with such a respected European shipyard, which has a long history of building high-quality passenger ships,” said Storylines CEO Alister Punton.
The ship will offer its residents the comforts of home, differing from other cruise ships in that it is designed for the complete living experience of its residents at sea. It will feature a post office, a school, a library, a hospital, a bank, swimming pools, shops, and around twenty restaurants. It will also be the world's largest wellness center at sea, with its own gardens, farms, and space for various sports and recreation on board.
