Regent Seven Seas Cruises celebrates a major milestone in the construction of the highly anticipated Seven Seas Grandeur™, ahead of its debut in 2023. During a special keel-laying ceremony at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, Italy, the Regent Seven Seas Cruises management team joined Fincantieri to formally place one of the ship's building blocks.

During the ceremony, a steel section of the approximately 55,500-gross-ton vessel was lifted into the dry dock. Montague and Tobaldi honored the occasion by placing three minted coins in the ship's keel, each representing one of the sister ships: Seven Seas Explorer, Seven Seas Splendor, and Seven Seas Grandeur. Following maritime tradition, the coins will remain permanently embedded in the ship's structure, bringing good fortune to all who sail aboard.
The Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Splendor coins are replicas of those placed on their own keels, while the new Seven Seas Grandeur coin includes the cruise line's 30th anniversary logo.
The Seven Seas Grandeur will accommodate only 732 guests and have a gross tonnage of 55,500, offering one of the highest space-to-staff ratios in the industry, along with Regent's signature high standards of service. To design the new ship, Regent Seven Seas Cruises enlisted the award-winning Studio DADO, specialists in boutique cruises and hospitality interior design. Last fall, Regent unveiled the designs for all 15 suite categories, from the unique Regent Suite—featuring a reimagined "The Parlor"—to the spacious Veranda Suite. Also revealed were the designs for the Prime 7 and Chartreuse restaurants, a rejuvenated Observation Lounge, and the captivating reimagining of the largest specialty restaurant at sea, Compass Rose, offering a fully personalized epicurean experience.
The designs take modern luxury cruises to new aesthetic heights, from accommodations with all suites and balconies to transformative dining experiences.
The Seven Seas Grandeur will begin its inaugural season in November 2023, making 17 trips around the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, plus 2 transatlantic crossings, all of them 7 to 16 nights in length.
