Norwegian Cruise Line has modified the Norwegian Epic's 2023 itineraries from Barcelona. The cruise line is rescheduling its ships, including the Norwegian Epic, which is changing its departures from Barcelona from May to October 2023, switching from its usual 7-night cruise to 9, 10, 11, and 12-day cruises.
This ship has become a classic in the Port of Barcelona. Weighing nearly 156,000 tons, with a maximum capacity for 4,100 passengers and 1,724 crew members, it was built in 2010 and has undergone two renovations since then, one in 2015 and the most recent in 2020.
The Epic was originally based in Miami, Florida, USA, sailing seven-night cruises in the Western Caribbean. In 2013 and 2014, the ship spent the winters in Miami, sailing the Caribbean from October to April. It was then transferred to Europe to offer itineraries of between two and seven days from April to October. In April 2015, the Epic established its home port of Barcelona.
The Norwegian Epic's current sailings are proceeding as scheduled. The cruise ship is currently sailing a series of Southern Caribbean cruises from San Juan, Puerto Rico. On April 2, the ship will depart from New Jersey for its summer homeports of Barcelona and Civitavecchia. The Norwegian Epic will remain in Europe with its regular sailings through early December of 2022.
