Following the announcement of the construction of the new Virgin Voyages terminal in late 2018 and the start of its construction in December 2020, the Virgin V Terminal was inaugurated on February 13th for the departure of the Valentine's cruise aboard the Scarlet Lady on its Caribbean itinerary
“I just want to thank you all for coming. Thank you to the wonderful team who created this beautiful building,” said Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniela Levin Cava also joined the celebration to inaugurate the new terminal. “It’s a special occasion not only because of the launch of the cruise line, but also because it’s a special occasion to open the business,” said Levin Cava. The mayor also praised the cruise line for its commitment to being the most sustainable cruise line at sea.
Virgin Voyages is the newest cruise line sailing from PortMiami. This adults-only cruise line offers a different experience than other cruise lines, with included Wi-Fi, gratuities, basic beverages, and access to all restaurants. There are no main dining rooms, and all cruises from Miami visit the cruise line's Beach Club in Bimini.
Virgin Voyages currently has one cruise ship in service, Scarlet Lady, and three more on the way. Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady will enter service this year, and a fourth, as-yet-unnamed ship will be added in 2023.
