The keel-laying ceremony for the “Ocean Albatross” was held at the CMHI shipyard on January 20th. The Ocean Albatross is the sixth vessel in the new INFINITY CLASS series, a series resulting from a unique collaboration between European design and technology and the efficiency of Chinese shipbuilding, creating an expedition cruise ship with innovative features, first-class stability, and high operational efficiency.
The keel-laying ceremony for the Ocean Albatros took place at the Merchant Heavy Industries facility in Haimen, China. 
SunStone Chairman Niels-Erik Lund commented, “We are very pleased that our new INFINITY series of vessels is progressing at a satisfactory pace. Having three INFINITY vessels in operation, receiving the next two INFINITY vessels in spring 2022, and now laying the keel of the sixth vessel, is a very satisfying achievement.”
The Infinity-class ships are 104 meters long and 18 meters wide. They can accommodate between 130 and 200 passengers and between 85 and 115 crew members. They are small enough to provide an exclusive atmosphere, yet large enough to offer all the expected amenities and facilities: swimming pool, bar and restaurants, lounges, boutique, gym, and spa.
Three new Infinity-class ships have already been delivered and are in operation: the Greg Mortimer, the Ocean Explorer, and the Ocean Victory. The Sylvia Earle will be delivered in March 2022 and the Ocean Odyssey in April 2022. The Ocean Albatross will be delivered in March 2023.
