As part of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), the Spanish Confederation of Travel Travel agencies s (CEAV) and the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) in Spain have signed a manifesto in which they pledge to support one another and to take actions that will help strengthen both the cruise industry and the travel agency sector.

For CEAV President Carlos Garrido, this manifesto is “a testament to the close relationship between cruise lines and travel agencies. For travel agencies, cruises are a key product due to the product’s complexity, which leads travelers to consult with travel agents when booking them. Agencies account for 90% of cruise sales, which makes collaboration between the two sectors essential.”
For his part, Alfredo Serrano, director of CLIA in Spain, says that this manifesto “highlights the importance of travel agencies to the cruise industry and reflects our desire to continue working with this community—which is key to our members—in order to drive the recovery.”
