“Cartagena takes you on a cruise” is the slogan of the event that will be held in Cartagena from December 17 to 19, organized by the Port Authority, Cartagena City Council and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, with the collaboration of CruiseNews Media Group.
The event, which will take place in the El Batel auditorium, has two objectives. Firstly, to promote Cartagena as a preferred cruise destination in the Mediterranean in conjunction with the cruise lines; and secondly, to create an informative space to bring the widest range of international cruises to the public, featuring the best ships, all destinations, and incredible offers for planning vacations.
Attendees will be entered into a daily drawing for a cruise and can receive discounts on their next cruise. There will also be gifts for all attendees.
The Port of Cartagena ranks as the eighth Spanish port in cruise traffic, with 2021 expected to close with 80 port calls and more than 70,000 passengers. This is considering that cruise tourism was reactivated in June after its paralysis during the pandemic, and ships are operating at 50 percent capacity to guarantee all health measures.
The efforts of shipping companies to guarantee safe tourism and the work of the Port Authority of Cartagena (APC), the City Council and the Regional Government with COVID certificates in museums, interpretation centers, the Cruise Terminal, shops and hospitality in Cartagena have positioned Cartagena as a main and attractive destination with a great tourist, heritage and cultural offer, and have been key to the economic recovery of Cartagena and the region.
The event schedule will begin on Friday, December 17, from 4 to 7 pm and will continue on Saturday the 18th, from 10:30 am to 2 pm and from 4 to 7 pm, and will end on Sunday the 19th from 10:30 am to 2 pm.
