Duarte Cabral, General Manager of the Port of Lisbon Cruises, said: “It is an honor to receive the 'Europe's Leading Cruise Port 2021' award from the World Travel Awards. This is the seventh time we have received this prestigious award and the sixth consecutive year.” He continued: “This award represents the determination of all our stakeholders who have contributed to this success. The port authority, the port agents, and all our partners have made it possible.”.

Throughout the pandemic, the Port of Lisbon Cruises has continued to welcome calling ships and enhance its services. LCP implemented both local and international health and safety protocols. With an estimated 107,000 passengers this year, LCP expects to finish the season stronger than last year.

Duarte Cabral commented: “As part of the world’s largest cruise port operator, Global Ports Holding, the Port of Lisbon Cruises has continued to invest in the future throughout the pandemic. We have focused on our health and safety protocols and have received the “Clean & Safe” seal from Turismo de Portugal. We now have new guidelines to ensure a safe journey for our passengers. We hope that everything will enter a new normal and that 2022 will be the year of recovery for the sector. We look forward to welcoming you to beautiful Lisbon.”.

The Lisbon Cruise Port serves as a transit port for all cruise lines traveling between the Atlantic Coast and Europe, the Western Mediterranean to Northern Europe, and transatlantic voyages.
