On October 17, the Porto Cruise Terminal hosted the first stop of the new SAGA ship SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE, which is making a 14-day outbound trip from Dover to Southampton with stops in Brest, Saint-Nazaire, La Rochelle, Santander, Leixões, Huelva and Vigo.
Thirteen buses transported the 768 passengers aboard this luxury cruise ship to visit the Porto and Northern Portugal region during the day. As this was the ship's first visit to Leixões, a plaque exchange ceremony, adapted to Covid-19 restrictions, took place early in the morning at the Porto Cruise Terminal dock.
The SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE is the newest expedition ship operated by Saga Cruises, launched in 2021. It was built at the Meyer Werft shipyards (Papenburg, Germany) with a length of 236 meters and a maximum capacity to accommodate approximately 1,000 passengers and 540 crew members.
