Minister Vijay Daryanani welcomed the MS Borealis cruise ship on its inaugural visit to Gibraltar. The vessel has 702 cabins and a standard capacity of 1,360 passengers and 662 crew members. The MS Borealis belongs to the UK-based cruise line Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, which operates four cruise ships.
The MS Borealis arrived at the port of Gibraltar at 08:00 and departed at 20:00.
Minister Daryanani and Captain Rommel Pineda participated in the traditional plaque exchange at the Gibraltar cruise terminal on their first visit to Gibraltar. Vijay Daryanani said: “I am very pleased to welcome the MS Borealis to Gibraltar for the first time. It is wonderful to see the cruise sector getting back on its feet after how much it has suffered over the past nineteen months. Gibraltar has sorely missed these cruise ship calls. I hope this is the first of many visits for this ship and for cruising in general.”.
