Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines resumes sailing, with the new ship Borealis departing on its maiden voyage from Liverpool. This marks the first time the 1,360-passenger vessel has sailed with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines and the launch of the UK cruise line's "Welcome Back" program.
The Borealis brings a host of new spaces and facilities to the fleet, including a large, two-level theater and main restaurant, a pool with a retractable roof, a large spa and thermal suite, and the new Auditorium, which offers culinary demonstrations and much more. Passengers will also have the opportunity to sample new flavors at Borealis's new specialty restaurants: Vasco, which offers a fresh and modern take on Indian cuisine; and Colours & Tastes, which features contemporary Asian fusion dishes.
Although the ship will initially sail at 50% capacity, the Borealis will always carry fewer than 1,400 passengers, allowing it to offer, together with its crew, the small-ship experience and attention to detail for which Fred. Olsen is known.

To mark the launch, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is offering discounts and special offers on select 2021 and 2022 cruises. The Borealis will sail exclusively from Liverpool in 2021, debuting with scenic UK cruises before introducing additional ports of call later in July and August as part of the “Welcome Back” cruise program
