MSC Cruises announced today that it will add the port of La Goulette in Tunisia to its 2022 Mediterranean summer voyages. Habib Ammar, Tunisia’s Minister of Tourism, and Foued Ben Othman, the country’s Minister of Transport, met with Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises, and the company’s CEO, Gianni Onorato, at its Geneva headquarters to finalize the planned voyages for MSC Opera next year. The ship will add La Goulette to its current itinerary for a total of 27 calls from April to October 2022.
Pierfrancesco Vago, CEO of MSC Cruises, said: “Tunisia is a beautiful and welcoming country that holds a special place in the heart of the MSC Group, for cargo, ferries, and cruises alike, and I have no doubt that including La Goulette on our Western Mediterranean itinerary for MSC Opera next summer will be a major draw for many of our passengers wishing to visit this incredible country. Travelers will be able to enjoy such special sites as the ancient archaeological wonders of Carthage, the charming and picturesque village of Sidi Bou Said, and the Medina of Tunis with its hundreds of monuments, palaces, mosques, and fountains, all UNESCO World Heritage Sites.”.

MSC Cruises and the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism also agreed to work together on future dedicated communication programs, particularly in Italy, France and Germany, to promote the appeal of Tunisia as a destination and cruises as a perfect option for exploring and enjoying its many tourist attractions.
