The Vigo Port Authority convened, in anticipation of the imminent resumption of cruise traffic, the coordination committee for the prevention of Covid-19, chaired by the top port official, Jesús Vázquez Almuíña, who was accompanied by representatives of the corresponding health authorities, officials of the Galician Government, Maritime Captaincy, concessionaires, authorization holders, licensees, consignees and shipowners.

During the meeting, the health measures to be implemented for the resumption of international cruises, effective June 7, were analyzed. In this regard, the resolution from the Directorate General of the Merchant Marine establishes the health measures that cruise ships must comply with when undertaking international voyages and sailing through territorial waters to enter Spanish ports open to international navigation.
In the specific case of the Port of Vigo, the first cruise ship call is scheduled for July 14th. The Seadream I will be responsible for welcoming the first cruise ship of the season, which currently anticipates the arrival of up to 36 passenger ships at the Transatlantic Pier. However, these are only projections, as the health situation at any given time could determine whether the scheduled calls will take place or be canceled until the end of the year.
