Holland America Line's new ship, Rotterdam, returned to the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera (Venice), Italy, on the afternoon of May 6, after successfully completing two rounds of sea trials off the country's Adriatic coast. The ship began its official sea trials on May 3 and, upon completion, returned to Marghera, where the final stages of the construction process will be completed. The Rotterdam is scheduled for delivery on July 30.
“The successful completion of sea trials gives us great confidence as we head into the final weeks of outfitting Rotterdam and prepare for the delivery of this historic ship,” said Gus Antorcha, President of Holland America Line. “Construction of Rotterdam has continued through the global challenges of the past year, with Fincantieri maintaining the highest level of dedication to stay on schedule. Congratulations to everyone involved for completing this important milestone.”.
The Rotterdam is the third ship in the Pinnacle Class, accommodating up to 2,668 passengers. It will feature the successful amenities and innovations introduced on its sister ships, including the 270-degree World Stage immersive screen, Rudi's Sel de Mer restaurant, and the popular Grand Dutch Café. This ship will offer the finest entertainment at sea, with live music and an exclusive lineup of performances each night. It will also provide passengers with exquisite cuisine overseen by eight of the world's leading chefs, friendly and award-winning service, and superbly appointed staterooms and suites.
