Swan Hellenic has announced that the hull sections and deck modules of its first ship, the cultural expedition cruise ship SH Minerva, have been completed ahead of schedule. To mark the occasion, the company released a time-lapse video of the work carried out at the Helsinki shipyard. Now that the structure is complete, the cabins are taking shape, as revealed today, showcasing Scandinavian comfort, rich natural materials, and open-to-the-sea spaces characteristic of the elegant designs by Swedish firm Tillberg.
The new vessel represents the next generation of polar expedition ships, designed for worldwide cruises with a strong focus on high-latitude regions. The SH Minerva is equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system and an ice-strengthened hull. At 113 meters long, the 10,500-ton vessel has been specially designed to explore the most inspiring and inaccessible places on the planet.
The SH Minerva, which offers 5-star accommodation for 152 guests in 76 spacious cabins and suites, the vast majority with large balconies, will be operated by a team of 120 people on board to provide the highest levels of personal service.
