Data Concursal and Pullmantur Cruises, when consulted, stated the following:
The Bankruptcy Administration has already submitted the provisional reports communicating the assets and liabilities of the bankruptcy proceedings, the workforce reduction plan is being processed, the Business Plan is being finalized, the necessary steps are being taken to expedite the FCC (Fund for Compensation and Refunds) to handle the refunds to clients and travel agencies, which are already well advanced, and meetings are being held with different investors regarding the financing of the company's viability plan.
Work is underway on the business plan, which is in a very advanced stage, with the aim of reviving the company whose shareholding is divided between the Springwater fund (51%) and Royal Caribbean (49%).
Currently, the workforce reduction plan is being processed due to economic, production, and organizational reasons, affecting a significant percentage of the staff. Pullmantur Cruises could not, on its own, financially withstand a prolonged operational shutdown like the one that has occurred as a result of the pandemic. Spokespeople added that the provisional reports detailing the assets and liabilities of the bankruptcy proceedings have already been submitted to the judge overseeing the case.
Pullmantur Cruises suspended operations on March 13, 2020, and filed for voluntary bankruptcy protection last August, at which time Data Concursal was appointed as its administrator. Both Pullmantur Cruises and Data Concursal have consistently expressed their commitment to reviving the company, and all steps taken to date, including the cooperation agreement with Royal Caribbean, are focused on that objective.
