Starting this week, MSC Cruises is offering its Spanish passengers, and those of other European nationalities, PCR or antigen tests before disembarking in Genoa or Civitavecchia, ports in Italy.
This new measure aims to facilitate the return home of Spanish passengers. The government requires a PCR test taken 72 hours before their return to the country to guarantee entry. The PCR test will cost €80 per passenger.
The tests will be conducted on board and analyzed in a laboratory on land. The results of these tests will be known while the passenger is still on the ship.
A large number of European countries have announced in recent weeks that all passengers returning to their countries will have to take a COVID-19 test, 48 or 72 hours before their arrival, depending on the country.
This new offer is in addition to the free tests that all passengers receive at their MSC Grandiosa embarkation ports and during their 7-night Western Mediterranean cruise, as part of the industry-leading health and hygiene protocol implemented in August 2020.
