AmaWaterways announces the suspension of its river cruises until the end of the year

AmaWaterways has announced the suspension of its river cruises for 2020, including all scheduled departures in Europe, Asia, and Africa. This suspension does not apply to chartered Rhine River cruises that have been operating since last July.

For all affected bookings, the company is offering a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) equivalent to 115% of the value of the services purchased, allowing guests to reschedule their luxury river cruise in Europe, Asia or Africa until December 31, 2022.

“We are so grateful for the patience and understanding of our customers and travel agents,” said Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-founder of AmaWaterways. “While this year has brought unprecedented challenges, it has also underscored the importance of facing these obstacles with flexibility and optimism. We are confident that our upcoming 2021-2022 river cruise season will create incredible experiences and cherished memories that are well worth the wait.”.

As a financially strong company, AmaWaterways remains focused on the future, and its European fleet and crew are ready to resume sailing in spring 2021, provided international travel restrictions are lifted and guests can travel safely. Demand for intimate river cruise holidays continues to rise among travelers who appreciate the personalization and security that comes with cruising on small, luxurious ships along inland waterways to less-visited towns and cities. Of particular interest is the award-winning, ultra-spacious AmaMagna, offering suites ranging from 108 to 210 square meters, four restaurants, and a large Zen Wellness Studio, sailing the upper and lower Danube with a host of exclusive experiences included.

In 2021, the river cruise line will add two new ships on the Rhine and five new itineraries and land programs across Europe. Additionally, AmaWaterways will return to the Nile River aboard the AmaDahlia on the Secrets of Egypt & The Nile itinerary, where guests will experience Egypt's fascinating history and visit dream destinations.
