P&O Cruises, a cruise line belonging to Carnival Corporation & plc, confirms the extension of its pause in operations, with all departures canceled until early 2021.
All Caribbean cruises are cancelled until the end of January 2021 and all cruises to and from Southampton are cancelled until February, as well as the Arcadia and the Aurora, which are cancelling their voyages until spring of next year.
P&O Cruises Chairman Paul Ludlow said: “As a result of the travel restrictions from the UK, it is unfortunately necessary to cancel these itineraries. These new cancellations vary depending on the ship, itinerary, port of call conditions, and current flight availability.” He added: “We continue to monitor the situation closely and will certainly reintroduce cruising if the opportunity arises and it is feasible to do so.”.
Ludlow confirmed that the company is working with several of the “brightest minds in science, as well as government at the highest level” on approved and improved health protocols, which will be implemented once the company resumes sailing.
He continued: “While adherence to onboard protocols and continuous vigilance will be essential, this will always be accompanied by providing the well-deserved and memorable vacations we are known for, with all the highlights onboard and experiences ashore. This is what we have always done and will continue to do.”.
Ludlow concluded on an optimistic note, saying, “We are confident that restrictions will soon ease, borders will open, and we can set sail again for a new beginning.”
All customers with bookings on a cancelled cruise will be notified and will automatically receive either a 125% Enhanced Future Cruise Credit or a 100% refund by completing a form available on their website.
