Hurtigruten launches new expedition cruises in the British Isles in September, aboard the MS Roald Amundsen, the company's first hybrid exploration vessel, which will head to British waters after completing the summer season in Svalbard.
From September 2nd, the MS Roald Amundsen will be offering cruises departing from Portsmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool, taking passengers to destinations such as the Isles of Scilly, Fowey, Rathlin Island, Fortwilliam, Oban, Fishguard and Waterford.
“We are delighted to announce our new British Isles itineraries. We wanted to ensure that passengers can experience these islands like never before, visiting remote islands, seeing the rugged wilderness and incredible wildlife, and enjoying charming coastal towns, villages, and cities while avoiding the crowds of mass tourism,” commented Hurtigruten CEO Daniel Skjeldam.
Skjeldam added: “With the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew as our number one priority, the response to our return to sailing has been overwhelmingly positive from destinations, passengers, and crew alike. As travel restrictions are lifted, we are entering the next phase of our return.”.
In accordance with the unprecedented situation we are experiencing, the ship will operate with a reduced maximum capacity of 350 passengers, approximately 65% of the total capacity.
