Travel agencies are vital to Silversea's success, especially during the current pandemic. In recent weeks, we have been in direct contact with agents to answer their questions, listen to their feedback, and discuss new ideas. Based on these communications, we would like to share some important updates to our partnership policies to help us navigate this challenging time.
Silversea is honoring commissions on fully paid canceled voyages, regardless of whether customers choose a refund or Future Cruise Credit. This policy applies to cancellations made since March 2020 and will remain in effect until Silversea is able to resume sailing or until further notice.
– In the case of cruises departing before December 31, 2020, if the customer who has paid in full cancels their trip under the “Cruiseuise with Confidence” policy and takes the Future Cruise Credit, the agent's commission is protected both on the cancelled booking and on the Future Cruise Credit when it is applied to a new booking.
To ensure peace of mind for travelers planning their cruise, Silversea is extending its "Cruise with Confidence" cancellation program to all departures before December 31, 2020. Under this policy, guests can cancel their cruise for any reason up to 48 hours before departure and receive a 100% Future Cruise Credit for the amount paid, valid for two years from the date of issue. If guests have paid the full cruise fare and choose the Future Cruise Credit, the travel agent's commission is protected for both the canceled and future bookings.
Silversea is reducing the minimum spend for bookings made before June 30, 2020, and these customers will also receive an onboard spending credit. This applies to all Silversea voyages with the exception of World Cruises and full Grand Voyages. Customers with a Future Cruise Credit can also take advantage of this offer.
Another available option is the Silversea Early Booking Bonus. Customers who book a cruise departing on or after September 1, 2020, and pay in full by June 30, 2020, will receive an additional 10% discount.
