Royal Caribbean Group extends its "Cruise with Confidence" policy until April 2022

For new and existing bookings made before August 1, 2020, passengers have the flexibility to cancel their cruise up to 48 hours before departure and receive a full cruise fare credit toward a future cruise through April 2022. The cruise line has also enhanced its “Cruise with Confidence” policy with new booking options. The updates, which are now available to travelers and their travel agents, include:

  • “Best price guaranteed”: Passengers can choose to change the price and promotional offer on their booking up to 48 hours before their cruise.
  • “Lift and Shift”: To facilitate travel, up to 48 hours before sailing, travelers have the option to simply “Lift and Shift” their cruise to the same itinerary departing on a future date. The original price and promotional offer of the booking will be protected, along with the cruise category and cabin classification.

“Customers are reacting very positively to our Cruise with Confidence policy,” confirmed RCL President and CEO Richard Fain, “because it allows them to make informed decisions and better manage their travel plans, which can become complicated in this time of unprecedented uncertainty.”.

“Cruise with Confidence” applies to both existing cruise bookings and those made before August 1, 2020. In addition to easing the concerns of passengers with reservations, Fain has stated that the policy increases consumer confidence in scheduling new bookings, knowing that last-minute travel adjustments are permitted.

“We want our customers to feel that they can safely keep their existing bookings or schedule new departures,” says Fain, “because this policy gives them more freedom and flexibility.”.

The policy applies to all cruises with departure dates on or before April 2022 and across all of the company's global brands:
