Celestyal Cruises, the leading Greek cruise operator, has made the difficult but responsible decision to announce the extension of its cruise suspension until June 29, 2020. On that date, it will resume operations with the "Iconic Aegean" itinerary, a four-night cruise through the Aegean Sea departing from and returning to Athens.
Leslie Peden, Chief Commercial Officer of Celestyal Cruises, stated: “We know this decision may cause inconvenience to our customers and we apologize for that. However, I am sure they will understand that our priority at this time is to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers and crew.”.
For fully paid individual bookings affected by this temporary suspension, Celestyal Cruises is offering a future cruise credit of 120% of the original booking amount. Customers can redeem their credit until the end of December 2021 for any Celestyal Cruises itinerary departing in 2020, 2021, or 2022. For added flexibility, customers who do not redeem their future cruise credit within the specified period will automatically receive a refund of the amount paid to Celestyal Cruises upon the credit's expiration in December 2021. This gives customers until that date to decide whether to use their credit for a future cruise or receive a refund of their original booking amount.
In order to provide better service to its customers, Celestyal Cruises will automatically send each credit voucher for a future cruise directly to the customer or their travel agent, so there will be no need for them to contact the Customer Service Center.
To ensure peace of mind for current customers and those booking cruises departing in 2020, Celestyal Cruises has extended its "Peace of Mind" policy until December 31. This policy allows guests to change their departure date up to 7 days prior to departure for voyages departing between June 29 and August 31, 2020. For departures between September 1 and December 31, 2020, guests can modify their plans up to 30 days prior to departure, with the option to reschedule their trip until December 31, 2022.
