The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has announced that it is delaying its launch to April 22, 2021, when it will make an inaugural voyage from Lisbon to Palma de Mallorca.
“Due to delays at the Hijos de J. Barreras shipyard, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has had to postpone its maiden voyage and subsequent voyages,” the company said in a press release.
The majority of shareholders of the Hijos de J. Barreras shipyard have agreed to cede control to Cruise Yacht Yard Co Ltd, an entity affiliated with the owner of the Evriam, Cruise Yacht 1 Ltd, led by Douglas Prothero, CEO of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.
This gives control of the shipyard to the new entity. The new structure will ensure that the Evrima is completed on time.
“We sincerely apologize to all guests who were ready to sail with us. We are firmly committed to ensuring the standards of quality and service for which The Ritz-Carlton is known.”.
Passengers affected by this delay will be able to change their cruise date or request a refund. Guests with independently booked flights and hotels will also be compensated, and travel agent commissions will be honored.
