Fincantieri has made the decision to suspend production for 14 days to prevent coronavirus infections at its shipyards.
The measure is effective from March 16 to 29, bringing forward the summer holidays for the entire staff.
Fincantieri currently has the Enchanted Princess under construction, scheduled for delivery in mid-June, and the Silver Moon in August. The Costa Firenze, a sister ship to the Costa Venezia for the Asian market, is due for delivery by the end of the year, and the Valiant Lady, Virgin Voyages' second ship, is due in early 2021. Two weeks of inactivity will undoubtedly affect the delivery schedules for many of these ships.
