Luxury river cruise line AmaWaterways has announced its 2021 program, which includes a new state-of-the-art ship, four new itineraries, and new pre- and post-cruise land programs in some of Europe's most sought-after destinations.
“We are delighted to present our 2021 offerings, showcasing fantastic new destinations and our award-winning fleet,” said Managing Director Stuart Perl. “France is a major destination, with the AmaKristina moving to the Rhône to join AmaCello, which offers a new itinerary to explore the Burgundy and Provence regions. Due to high demand on the Lower Danube, we have added more sailings and introduced new land-based programs in Geneva and Lake Como, which will delight our loyal regular passengers and attract new travelers seeking unique experiences.”
Joining AmaWaterways’ burgeoning European fleet, the new 156-passenger AmaLucia, sister ship to AmaSiena (2020), will feature distinctive twin balconies, connecting cabins, and several restaurants, including The Chef’s Table. Enjoying spring in the Netherlands and Belgium, AmaLucia begins her voyage on March 16, 2021, sailing a series of tulip-infused cruises before setting sail on the Danube, Rhine, Main, and Moselle rivers.
In response to growing demand for more French itineraries, AmaWaterways has also announced the repositioning of three ships: in addition to the award-winning AmaKristina moving to the Rhône, AmaDante will join AmaLyra on the Seine, and AmaCello will sail a new itinerary on the Rhône and Saône. Finally, AmaBella and AmaVerde will join AmaWaterways’ European fleet cruising the Dutch and Belgian canals and the Danube.
For the 2021 season, AmaWaterways presents four new seven-night itineraries, all complemented by pre- or post-cruise land programs:
Enjoy the Seine and Paris aboard AmaDante between Paris and Le Havre, passing through the incredible sights of Northern France, including idyllic towns, beautiful gardens, and the historic centers of Normandy. Experience the essence of Burgundy and Provence aboard AmaCello between Chalon-sur-Saône and Arles, awakening all your senses as you visit romantic cities and artistic hubs, along with experiences like learning to cook French cuisine at a culinary school in Valence. Shore options: Pre-cruise: Three nights in Geneva, Switzerland / Post-cruise: Three nights in Barcelona, Spain.
Rhine castles and the Swiss Alps aboard the AmaMora and AmaSerena, sailing between Amsterdam and Basel, will leave passengers in awe, along with vineyard-covered hills, charming villages, and castles perched like pearls along the banks of the Rhine River. Land options: Pre-cruise: Two nights in Amsterdam, Netherlands / Post-cruise: Three nights on Lake Como, Italy
Experience the best of the Netherlands and Belgium aboard the AmaSerena's round-trip cruise from Amsterdam. History buffs will get a close look at the region's rich past with visits to Utrecht and Dordrecht, the oldest city in the Netherlands. In addition, AmaWaterways is further enhancing its pre- and post-cruise experiences with a new shore extension in the Champagne region of France, featuring visits to the magnificent vineyards and tastings of Veuve Clicquot and Moët & Chandon. This shore program will be available as an add-on to the Rivers & Castles, Rhine & Moselle Splendours, and Vineyards of the Rhine & Moselle European itineraries.
