Madrid, October 15, 2019 – This coming November, MSC Cruises will welcome its first guests to its stunning new private island in the Bahamas, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. Today, the world’s largest private cruise line and leader in Europe and South America reveals even more experiences awaiting MSC Cruises passengers on the island, along with unveiling new photographs.
With endless panoramic views of crystal-clear blue waters and over 3,000 kilometers of white-sand beaches, Ocean Cay is the ideal getaway for guests to discover the pure, unspoiled beauty of nature through a variety of activities designed for all ages. From ocean exploration activities like snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding , and kayaking, to simply relaxing in a beach cabana or enjoying a luxurious spa treatment.
Visitors can also enjoy breathtaking sunsets, followed by a traditional Bahamian Junkanoo parade, a spectacular light show from the lighthouse, or stargazing on the beach. For those who simply want to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, there are eight beaches to choose from, each offering different activities and amenities. The island is easy to explore and can be easily accessed on foot from the ship, although passengers can also use an electric tram that will take them around the island.

- Offshore Fishing: Catch, Tag, and Release. After a short boat ride, passengers can enjoy an adventure-filled day gathering the best catches of their lives and learning about the variety of regional fish as they catch, tag, and release them. They'll learn about the different species and how they migrate from one of the world's most famous fishing grounds. Gray Fish, the only tagging research center in The Bahamas, will assist participants as they fish and tag their catches to report information about each one. Once a fish is released, it can be caught again.
- The Rum Date (adults only). A scenic boat trip to a stunning Bahamas shore where participants will enjoy a lively atmosphere, surrounded by shallow, crystal-clear waters while savoring a complimentary rum punch and dancing to live music.
- The luxurious electric pedal boat, the Ceclo. Exploring or simply cruising slowly for hours in the tranquility of the beautiful waters of the Bahamas is one of the most innovative inventions on the market: the Ceclo, a luxurious electric pedal boat, ready for any adventure and made from recycled champagne corks, wood, and aluminum.
- Nighttime glow while practicing Stand-Up Paddleboarding. Passengers can discover marine life after dark and enjoy a peaceful evening under a starry sky, practicing stand-up paddleboarding on a board equipped with LED lighting that will allow passengers to glide on a beam of light through the calm waters of The Bahamas.

- Ocean Cay Family Club. The whole family embarks on a great adventure across the island to help Captain Doremi save it while learning about the environment and animal species that inhabit the territory and how to preserve the island and the oceans around it.
- The Bahama Bank Escape (Family Tour). A fun tour for the whole family aboard a spacious double-decker motor catamaran, where the captain and crew take participants on a delightful boat ride to a shore where families can splash in the shallow tropical waters, enjoy water sports, and relax on the beach with complimentary local rum punch for adults.
- A beachside stargazing adventure for kids. This fun learning activity lets children discover all about the universe, planets, stars, time, and space. Led by Captain Doremi, children will help a little star find its way back home through stories, games, and riddles.
The perfect setting for a touch of love:
- Adventure to Honeymoon Harbour. On this adventure, passengers will be able to interact with a wide variety of different ray species, including friendly native rays, on a boat trip to Honeymoon Harbour, where visitors will also enjoy the beautiful beaches and the Gun Cay lighthouse.
- Sunset beach picnic. A romantic beach picnic awaits couples seeking a more intimate experience as they enjoy the sunset and the blue waters of the Bahamas, complete with a bottle of wine and a basket of snacks.
Starting in November 2019, four MSC Cruises ships will call at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve on different days: MSC Meraviglia, MSC Seaside, MSC Divina and MSC Armonia.
