Royal Caribbean International today announced the homeport and name of the fifth ship in the Oasis Class. The next ship to join the innovative cruise line will be named Wonder of the Seas and will sail from Shanghai, China. All the details of this announcement were revealed by Royal Caribbean President and CEO Michael Bayley during an international cruise conference held in Shanghai. Its highly anticipated debut is scheduled for 2021, when the world's largest cruise ship will mark a new era in the industry as the first of the renowned Oasis Class to sail the Asia-Pacific.
“Royal Caribbean is known for its innovation and for constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, and an Oasis-Class ship in China is proof of that,” Bayley said. “Wonder of the Seas will redefine the ultimate vacation and be revolutionary in its own right, marking one of the most exciting chapters in Royal Caribbean’s history.”
The Wonder of the Seas will be part of the Oasis Class, the largest in the world, and will combine the iconic seven-neighborhood concept offered by its sister ships along with a series of exciting experiences, imaginative cuisine, unparalleled entertainment, and the latest onboard technology.
