To enhance the travel experience for its cruise line guests, Silversea announces a collaboration with the legendary lifestyle brand Lalique. Founded in 1888, Lalique is renowned for its exquisite jewelry, decorative items, interior design, perfumes, and artwork. Silversea and Lalique share an unwavering commitment to luxury, exceptional quality, and timeless elegance.

Using its savoir-faire and fine craftsmanship perfected over generations, Lalique will produce decorative crystal artwork to enhance the designs of La Dame restaurants aboard two Silversea ships: the Silver Shadow, which will be refurbished in November 2019, and the Silver Moon, which will be launched in August 2020. Silversea's La Dame restaurants serve gourmet French cuisine in an elegant and refined setting, providing the perfect canvas for Lalique's world-renowned artistry.
At both Silver Moon and Silver Shadow, the restaurant designs will be enhanced by the installation of several handcrafted Lalique glass panels. These artworks will be entirely bespoke, taking approximately three months to create each. Positioned at the restaurant entrances and along their walls, the handcrafted panels will incorporate two main motifs, both conceived by Lalique founder René Lalique in 1935: one is the Masque de Femme, a design revealing the face of a mysterious nymph with delicate features, surrounded by marine life; the other is Coutard, a geometric pattern depicting a spray of fine, transparent water droplets, evoking the appearance of ocean waves and further emphasizing the marine theme. The symmetrical design of the panels will be reminiscent of traditional designs found in French gardens and châteaux. And, for the first time for Lalique's master glassmakers, the panels will not require a metal frame, thus providing a lighter feel that will highlight the composition of the glass. Lalique conceived this innovative design feature for Silversea.

“We are delighted to have partnered with Lalique, a brand that shares our passion for quality and elegance,” says Manfredi Lefebvre, Executive Chairman of Silversea. “This unique collaboration will further elevate the aesthetics of La Dame, enrich an already extraordinary dining experience for our guests, and enhance the levels of luxury and innovation that have become standard onboard Silversea.”.
Silvio Denz, President and CEO of Lalique: “We are proud to collaborate with Silversea, the pioneer and leader in ultra-luxury cruises, which, like Lalique, is committed to creating a bespoke experience of the highest quality. Furthermore, this collaboration is perfectly in keeping with Lalique’s heritage, as in 1935 René Lalique participated in the interior design of the first-class dining room of the luxurious ocean liner Le Normandie. We are delighted that today Lalique’s iconic designs are being showcased aboard the Silver Shadow and the Silver Moon .”
During the extensive refurbishment of the Silver Shadow , scheduled for November 2019, La Dame will be remodeled and expanded to accommodate up to 40 diners, ensuring that all guests have the opportunity to experience the venue's exceptional dining experience. Onboard the Silver Moon, La Dame will be located on Deck 8 and will be significantly larger than La Dame on the Silver Muse, welcoming nearly three times the number of guests.
When Silver Moon launches , it will exude luxury and Italian elegance, offering guests an exceptionally comfortable cruise experience. Maintaining the intimacy of smaller ships and spacious suites that are the hallmark of the Silversea experience, Silver Moon will offer immersive travel experiences for guests, while they enjoy Silversea's industry-leading service. A pioneering new culinary program, SALT (Sea and Land Taste), will allow guests to travel even deeper, revealing unique culinary experiences both onboard and ashore. To enhance the experience, all-inclusive amenities will include complimentary wines, champagne, and spirits; specialty coffees, bottled water, juices, and soft drinks served throughout the ship; an in-suite bar stocked with guests' preferences; 24-hour in-suite room service; and complimentary, unlimited Wi-Fi.
