Renowned for its distinction, English elegance and for creating unforgettable moments, the luxury shipping company Cunard Line will once again host Transatlantic Fashion Week, probably the most unusual fashion week, in an environment as unusual as the decks of the Queen Mary 2 on a crossing of the Atlantic Ocean.
On July 28, coinciding with the peak summer season, the company's flagship will depart the port of New York, heading east to Southampton, UK, where it will arrive on August 4, after an eight-day voyage filled with style, color, nuance, design, and glamour. Now in its fourth year, this event has become a must-see in the fashion world and a valuable addition for passengers seeking a unique and memorable vacation experience.
For just over a week, passengers aboard the Queen Mary 2 will be able to attend fashion shows, participate in engaging talks, and enjoy dinner discussions with some of the most celebrated figures in the fashion. These include Stephen Jones, milliner to the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, considered one of the most radical designers in the world; the prestigious shoe designer to the stars, Stuart Weitzman; veteran supermodel Pat Cleveland, one of the first African American women to achieve success on the catwalk; Lily Wood, writer and public relations expert specializing in fashion; American businesswoman Rose Marie Bravo, vice president of Burberry; and Stanley Tucker, who has over forty years of experience in the luxury menswear business, having held executive positions at Burberry and the New York department store Saks Fifth Avenue.
This voyage will also welcome back two of the world's leading fashion experts: Colin McDowell, one of the industry's most revered fashion historians, and consultant Gail Sackloff. Furthermore, Transatlantic Fashion Week 2019 will partner with the Graduate Fashion Foundation, a leading global charity, which will present its own Graduate Fashion Week on board. Six design students will be selected to showcase their collections on a dazzling runway during this week at sea.
