Silversea Cruises is updating the television programming in the suites across its fleet. Starting January 1, 2019, National Geographic and Sport 24 channels will enhance the already impressive range of viewing options offered through renowned international channels such as BBC World News and Fox News, among others, as well as the latest movies. As part of the upgrade, guests will be able to watch live American football and basketball, among many other major broadcasts.

Building upon Silversea's already extensive programming, the National Geographic channel is enhancing guest experiences with captivating travel and science series and documentaries. Broadcast on board all Silversea ships, showcasing the authentic beauty of over 900 of the world's most remarkable destinations, the National Geographic program includes content that provides guests with a deeper understanding of the incredible people, cultures, and destinations they may encounter on their cruise, depending on the itinerary.
With the new Sport 24 channel, Silversea guests can enjoy live coverage of many of their favorite sporting events while sailing to distant shores. Owned by IMG Group, a global leader in sports, events, and media, Sport 24 offers the excitement of live sports from around the world, including professional leagues such as the National Hockey League, NBA, Premier League, Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Rugby World Cup, Grand Slam tennis tournaments, and major golf championships, among many others.
This in-suite entertainment plan is part of Silversea's Project Invictus – a long-term plan to grow and enhance its already luxurious fleet of ships – and Silversea's in-suite entertainment offerings are among the best at sea. Guests can enjoy more than 100 blockbuster movies, including approximately 20 new releases each month; 90 hours of documentary content, tailored to the destination; and an additional 150 hours of television programming.
“As part of our ongoing product upgrade and enhancement initiative with Project Invictus, we are delighted to enhance our guests’ suite experience with a wider selection of television channels, offering high-quality entertainment 24/7,” says Barbara Muckermann, Silversea’s Chief Marketing Officer. “This latest enhancement reflects our commitment to making our guests feel at home in the most remote corners of the world.”.
Each Silversea ship features spacious ocean-view suites with dedicated butler service. The suites are furnished with elegant furniture, at least one state-of-the-art flat-screen TV with an interactive library, luxurious linens, high-quality bathrobes and slippers, and a range of all-inclusive amenities, including a bar stocked to guests' preferences, room service, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
