Bethesda, MD – December 5, 2018 – The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, LLC is pleased to announce the name of the first of three yachts for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. It will be named Azora, meaning “blue sky,” which the company explains is derived from the word “azure” and the color “blue.”.

“We are thrilled to officially unveil the name of the inaugural yacht in The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection,” said Doug Prothero, CEO of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. With blue as The Ritz-Carlton’s signature color and inspirational travel color, Azora was a perfect choice for the inaugural yacht. The calm of the sky and the serenity of the ocean are also highly representative of the color, opening the mind to creativity, relaxation, and new experiences.
The custom-designed yacht, set to launch in February 2020, will measure 190 meters and accommodate 298 guests in 149 suites, each with its own private veranda. The yacht will also feature two Owner's Suites, each 102 square meters with a 55-square-meter veranda, and luxurious interiors designed by Tillberg Design of Sweden. The onboard experience will reflect the sublime comfort and unparalleled level of service for which the Ritz-Carlton brand is renowned. Guests will enjoy an all-inclusive experience, encompassing spacious accommodations, onboard activities and entertainment, beverages, multiple restaurants, gratuities, Wi-Fi, and watersports from the aft marina. Exclusive experiences will also be available at an additional cost, such as dining at the restaurant designed by Michelin-starred Chef Sven Elverfeld at The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg, as well as spa treatments and immersive excursions offered as The Shore Collection.
The yacht is also available for private charters. For more information, visit www.ritzcarltonyachtcollection.com
