Castellón Cruise Club welcomes the measures implemented to attract more cruise ships to the port of Castellón and boost this specific type of tourism in the province. The institutions and organizations that comprise the club held a meeting to highlight the initiatives undertaken, which have resulted in six scheduled calls at the port of Castellón for next year , surpassing the previous limit of one or two cruises per year for the first time.

This growth is the result of the new strategy promoted by the Port Authority of Castellón through Castellón Cruise Club, an entity in which the bodies involved in the promotion of cruises are integrated: Castellón City Council, Castellón Provincial Council, Valencian Tourism Agency, Chamber of Commerce, Aerocas, University of Castelló, PortCastelló Foundation and the Port Authority itself.
The most immediate action is the PortCastelló Foundation's participation in the International Cruise Summit in Madrid on November 27th and 28th. This is a global forum for discussion on the cruise industry. Representatives from the Foundation will be promoting the new pier for luxury and smaller cruise ships at the Levante dock, which will open next year in response to requests from shipping companies. A key feature of this new infrastructure is its proximity to the Costa dock, which is the hub of leisure and dining options in the city's maritime district. The Crystal Esprit will be the first cruise ship to inaugurate the new facility on May 17, 2019.
At the same time, and as part of the PortCastelló Foundation's commercial activities, new familiarization trips are being organized for tour operators and shipping companies to introduce them to Castellón as a destination. During these "fam trips," industry professionals have the opportunity to discover the city's gastronomic and cultural tourism offerings.
During the working meeting, it was agreed to intensify the "Castellón Cruise Friendly" initiative. This is a quality seal that aims to provide high-quality service to cruise passengers arriving at the port of Castellón. Currently, 50 establishments in Castellón have joined the initiative, and the Chamber of Commerce provides them with free English language training courses to improve their customer service skills.
