Silversea Cruises opens bookings for 191 new voyages, unlocking 572 destinations in 84 countries from summer 2020 through winter 2021. Transfers and flights will be included on virtually all of the newly announced itineraries, while other highlights will allow guests to travel with greater immersion.
Included with virtually all trips in the new collection are complimentary round-trip economy flights and transfers, simplifying the guest travel experience. This new addition allows guests to travel the world with complete peace of mind: seamless, all-inclusive service ensures a perfect connection; comprehensive coverage protects guests against unforeseen mishaps; and reservations can be easily made through my.silversea.com or by calling the reservations team. Business class flights are also available starting at just $199 each way. For guests who do not use the flight offer, a generous credit is available. The new collection of itineraries will allow guests to experience the authentic beauty of the world with unprecedented variety, enhancing the cruise line's ultra-luxury offerings in a number of remarkable destinations. Highlights of the collection will include:
- The enhanced offering in Northern Europe comprises four ships and 29 voyages: in Iceland, Silversea will offer more immersive experiences on classic and expedition voyages, including a 9-day circumnavigation aboard Silver Wind, departing from Reykjavik on June 29, 2020; in the British Isles, extended programs will unlock more incredible experiences, with voyages departing from the iconic Tower Bridge; while an exciting new North Sea Capitals voyage will offer overnight stays in Oslo, Hamburg, Amsterdam, and London.
- New immersive travel experiences in Alaska and the Russian Far East, with three ships and 21 voyages. As in 2019, the cruise line's flagship, the Silver Muse, will spend the entire summer of 2020 deployed in Alaska. The Silver Explorer will sail the Sea of Okhotsk, one of the least visited areas in the Russian Far East, on an 18-day voyage beginning in June 2020.
- Silversea returns to the Canary Islands on two trips, departing on April 16 and September 25, 2020, and to Istanbul on two different itineraries, departing on May 30 and August 2, 2020.
- Stopovers in El Hierro, Spain; Fishguard, Wales; Nordfjordeid, Norway; Siglufjörður, Iceland; Durres, Albania; Klaksvik, Faroe Islands; and Patreksfjordur, Iceland.
- An expanded polar offering, with two ships, 10 voyages, and 83 destinations in the Arctic, and 11 itineraries and 26 destinations in Antarctica (including East Antarctica and the Ross Sea). Unprecedented voyages to New Zealand’s sub-Antarctic islands and Australia’s Macquarie Island (all UNESCO World Heritage sites) will allow guests to see vast penguin colonies and thousands of seals; visits to Churchill and Hudson Bay in Manitoba, Canada, will take guests to the “polar bear capital of the world” and the world’s largest beluga whale population, respectively; and simultaneous crossings of the Northwest and Northeast Passages will unlock once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
- Greater variety in the Mediterranean, with five ships and 54 trips on offer, including a grand 37-day, 28-port voyage and an extended Grand Prix trip.
- An extended season in the Galapagos Islands.
- More nights than ever before. Guests will be able to spend more time in some of the world's most incredible destinations. Every voyage of more than seven nights in Europe and Canada and New England will benefit from the ship's overnight stay in strategically selected ports.
Another highlight of the new summer 2020 itineraries is the new Silver Moon which will set sail on its maiden voyage on August 6, 2020. The ship will depart from Trieste, Italy, for Civitavecchia on an 11-day cruise. The sister ship to Silversea's flagship, the Silver Muse, the Silver Moonwill benefit from a number of onboard upgrades and will sail in the Mediterranean during its first season, until November, when it will cross the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale.
