Southampton, August 13, 2018 – Today, Oceania Cruises announced its OceaniaNEXT initiative, a comprehensive range of significant enhancements designed to maximize guest satisfaction. The first initiative, with a $100 million investment, will be the redesign and enhancement of its four 684-passenger ships (Regatta, Insignia, Sirena, and Nautica), making them even more appealing than if they were brand new. Each ship will feature a completely innovative redesign of 342 staterooms and striking new décor in restaurants, lounges, and bars, inspired by the line’s 450 ports of call. Insignia will be the first to debut on December 7, 2018, followed by Sirena in May 2019, Regatta in September 2019, and Nautica in June 2020.

They just don’t build ships like these anymore, which is why this refurbishment project is such a significant milestone in our company’s 15-year history. At the forefront of this spectacular renovation is Studio DADO, a Miami-based concept design studio specializing in luxury residential design.
“The moment we stepped aboard, we were struck by the ambiance and attention to detail,” says Yohandel Ruiz, founding partner of Studio DADO. “The passengers we spoke with commented on how much they loved the ships, so it was important that we maintain that sense of intimacy and warmth in the redesign. What we’ve implemented provides a modern and refreshed atmosphere, similar to what you would find in an elegant home.”.
Surprisingly new, delightfully familiar
Taking inspiration from the acclaimed Marina and Riviera, the Regatta, Insignia, Nautica, and Sirena ships will feature luxurious new interiors showcasing the best of residential design. Furniture by Baker and Donghia, along with fabrics by Rubelli and Kravet, will adorn the public spaces, with new, richly colored, custom-made carpets covering the floors.
Style and elegance will define the reception area and Upper Hall. A gleaming new grand staircase, framed by intricate crystal-encrusted railings and balustrades, will welcome guests aboard. Above, a grand chandelier adorned with hand-painted, smoked glass pendants will illuminate the space. The Grand Dining Room will feature comfortable leather chairs with bronze embellishments that will highlight the light from the stunning new crystal chandelier, which will be the restaurant's centerpiece.
Martinis returns with a color palette inspired by the stunning Santorini coastline, featuring shades of navy, chocolate brown, and pewter. Silvery white marble and tobacco quartz accentuate the bar, while walnut wood paneling adds a touch of brightness and a comfortable, familiar feel.
Completely new suites and cabins
The new, luxurious staterooms and suites will make guests feel at home while they're away, offering greater comfort, brightness, and even more space. Their refurbishment will bring modern spaces with custom-made furniture, exotic stone and polished wood finishes, and designer accessories, creating a harmonious blend of style and comfort.
“The cabins and suites will undergo the most tangible transformation,” Ruiz emphasized, “thanks to a very clean design with a sophisticated feel, enhanced by nods to the sea and sky, with warm and soft tones, incorporating silvery grays and greens along with vivid sapphires and grays.”.
For added convenience, USB ports will be incorporated into each of the cabins, as well as a state-of-the-art television system with pay-per-view movies in multiple languages, live channels and a program guide, in addition to information on the travel itinerary and weather updates.
Spectacular new bathrooms
All bathroom fixtures and surfaces will be brand new, featuring designer fittings, perfect lighting, luxurious vanities, and elegant glass shower enclosures. The bathrooms in the Suites, Vista, and Owner's Suites will be transformed into luxurious seaside retreats, offering more space and featuring Carrara marble, polished granite, and elegant onyx.
