Genoa, June 19, 2018. Achim Bahnen joined the company on June 1 to take up the position of Vice President, Head of Communication & Public Affairs.
In his new role, Bahnen is responsible for overseeing all corporate communications and public affairs activities for the Costa Group and coordinating them with the group's companies: Costa Cruises, AIDA Cruises, and Costa Asia. Bahnen will report directly to Michael Thamm , Group CEO of Costa Group & Carnival Asia.

Achim Bahnen began his career as a journalist at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, was a division head at the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, and has held management positions at SAP and Merck KGaA. More recently, he has worked as an independent communications consultant.
