Global Ports Holding PLC (GPH), the world’s largest cruise port operator, is pleased to announce the appointment of Serafín Blazquez as Port Services Director. Serafín will be based in Barcelona and will report to the Chief Commercial Officer, Mark Robinson.
With over 20 years of experience in port operations and the cruise industry, Serafín will help GPH achieve best operational practices across its 14 cruise ports.
Serafín recently worked as Global Port Agency Manager at Intercruises Shoreside and Port Services, which he joined in 2009. There, he led the creation and development of a network of maritime agencies in the Mediterranean (Spain, Portugal, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Croatia, Morocco, and Turkey). In 2016, he assumed global management of Intercruises' maritime agencies and developed the business globally, with a particular focus on North America, the Middle East, and other regions.
Before joining Intercruises, Serafín worked for two years at the Miami-based Apollo Group as a purchasing manager for their shipping agency. Between 2004 and 2007, Serafín worked for Italmar 3000 SL, a Barcelona-based company that provides shipping agency services in Spain and Italy. Serafín began his professional career in 2001 as Deputy Port Operations Manager at MacAndrews SA in Barcelona.
