Madrid, April 24, 2018 - Pullmantur Cruises, the only shipping company in the market that brings the Spanish lifestyle to the way of traveling on a cruise, has brought 'Captain for a Day', its fun and educational program, to Panama and Colombia.
Thus, within the framework of the weekly operation of the Monarch ship in Colón (Panama) and Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), more than 100 schoolchildren between 5 and 10 years old from the República de Bolivia School (Colón) and the Pedro de Heredia Educational Institution (Cartagena de Indias) have participated in this activity.
The company's President & CEO, Richard J. Vogel, and the Captain of the Monarch, Alex Norenko, have joined the initiative and welcomed the children.
After boarding, the children and their teachers toured the main facilities of the Monarch – Pullmantur Cruises' flagship – along with the ship's Entertainment Team, who accompanied the participants throughout their stay on board.
In addition, they enjoyed a snack and a show performed exclusively for them, specifically, a storytelling session.
The President & CEO of Pullmantur Cruises, Richard J. Vogel, states that it is “very gratifying to see the children's enthusiasm and joy; an incentive that -without a doubt- drives us to continue with this program, whose objective is to bring our activity closer to the students of the schools near the ports where we operate.”

Captain for a Day
'Captain for a Day' is a fun and educational program that was created in May 2015 with the aim of bringing the activities of Pullmantur Cruises closer to schoolchildren in the cities where the shipping company has a port of embarkation.
This program has been developed in Colombia (Cartagena de Indias), Spain (Barcelona, La Coruña, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Vigo) and Portugal (Lisbon) to date.
