Madrid, April 23, 2018 – Norwegian Cruise Line has taken delivery of the Norwegian Bliss from Meyer Werft. Weighing 167,800 tons, the ship was delivered during a ceremony in Bremerhaven, Germany, marking the completion of an 18-month construction period. Attendees included Norwegian Cruise Line executives, including Andy Stuart, President and CEO; Harry Sommer, Executive Vice President of International Business Development; Robin Lindsay, Executive Vice President of Vessel Operations; representatives from Meyer Werft, including Bernard and Tim Meyer, managing partners of the Germany-based shipyard; the ship's captain and hotel director; and Vitalijs Smorodinovs of the Bahamas Maritime Authority, where the Norwegian Bliss will fly its flag. The ship is now sailing from Southampton, England, on its maiden transatlantic voyage. Norwegian Bliss will arrive at its first homeport at Pier 66 in Seattle, Washington on May 30, where the official christening ceremony will take place. Upon its return on June 2, it will embark on its maiden seven-day voyage to Alaska.

To celebrate the ship's launch, Norwegian Cruise Line is offering its agents a spectacular promotion. For every booking made between April 19 and May 17 for 2018, 2019, and 2020 on any ship in the fleet, partners will receive a €60 commission. In addition, passengers will receive a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolate-covered raspberries in their stateroom upon embarkation. The promotion is valid on all cruises worldwide of five days or more that include Premium All Inclusive and Premium All Inclusive Plus.
Norwegian Bliss, the third ship in the Breakaway Plus class, the most successful class in the company's history, is the first cruise ship specifically designed with features and amenities for the ultimate Alaskan cruising experience.
Beginning in June 2018, Norwegian Bliss will spend the summer sailing seven-day Alaskan itineraries and the fall season cruising to the Mexican Riviera from Los Angeles. In the winter of 2018, it will sail the Caribbean from Miami, and in the fall/winter season of 2019, it will cruise from New York City to Florida, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean.
