The Port of Valencia today welcomed four cruise ships simultaneously, disembarking over 13,300 passengers at the Grao port. This figure represents a historic record for the number of cruise passengers arriving at the port at any one time. The TUI Mein Schiff 2 disembarked approximately 2,700 passengers, mostly from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Meanwhile, the Cunard Queen Victoria disembarked nearly 2,000 passengers in Valencia from countries such as England, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. The Port of Valencia also received two ships from MSC Cruises: the MSC Divina, which uses the port as its home port during the March-to-September season, and the MSC Fantasia. These two ships carried over 8,700 passengers from Spain, Italy, France, Germany, England, Switzerland, Belgium, the United States, and Brazil.
To successfully manage this influx of visitors, a special plan has been implemented, involving the Port Authority of Valencia, Valencia Tourism, the State Security Forces, the Government Sub-delegation, the Valencia City Council, the Local and Port Police, Customs, the cruise terminal itself, as well as tour operators, tour guides, and ship agents. This coordinated and planned effort among all those involved in tourism aims to provide the best possible service to visitors and project the most positive image of Valencia.
In total, the cruise lines offered 54 excursions throughout the city of Valencia (City of Arts and Sciences, historic center, Fallas Museum, and Bioparc, among others) and its surroundings (Albufera Natural Park, Valencian wine tasting in Requena, visit to the Lladró Museum, among others), highlighting the region's rich cultural, gastronomic, architectural, leisure, and commercial offerings. In this regard, it is worth noting that the city's cruise offerings, developed jointly by the Port Authority of Valencia and Turismo Valencia, are extensive, varied, and characterized by their safety.
To ensure seamless connectivity between the port and the city, shipping companies have deployed 33 shuttle buses, and the number of designated stops has also been increased. Furthermore, taxi and EMT bus services have been reinforced on lines serving the port, and security measures have been expanded. These measures involve coordinated efforts by state security forces, the sub-delegation of the Government, and the port police. The Valencia Local Police have deployed officers throughout the city and set up a mobile information van to assist tourists. Turismo Valencia has also expanded its tourist information services both within the port area and at various locations in the historic center.
