Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services, an experienced global company providing shoreside and consignee services to the ocean and river cruise industry, has announced that SafeAshore™ – its proprietary shore excursion safety system – is now live and in use in 10 ports around the world.
Developed in Barcelona and launched in Marseille in 2017, SafeAshore™ is a web and mobile application designed to enhance the safety of guests and guides on excursions. Already operational in Marseille, Le Havre, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Penang, the system is ready for use in Southampton, Barcelona, Valencia, Málaga, and Palma de Mallorca, and is being prepared for Dubrovnik, Civitavecchia (Rome), and Livorno, where it is expected to be operational next year.
SafeAshore™ enables Intercruises and cruise lines to track excursion groups at all times, providing a secure communication channel via instant messaging between guides and the Intercruises team. The system comes pre-loaded with emergency information, including local emergency phone numbers and a map of safe locations such as police stations and hospitals.
SafeAshore™ was recently recognized at the 2018 Wave Awards, where Intercruises Shoreside and Port Services won the “ Best Use of Technology ” award.

Intercruises has confirmed that it will continue to develop and roll out the system in multiple regions as part of a two-year expansion strategy and expects it to be operational in more than 80 ports by 2020.
