Southampton, February 21, 2018 – As the only North American luxury cruise line with guaranteed permits to offer voyages to Cuba, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has added more visits to the Caribbean island on two itineraries in 2019 and 2020. Seven Seas Mariner will offer the cruise line’s first immersive Cuba itinerary on its October 15, 2019, voyage, with stops in Havana, Cienfuegos, and Santiago de Cuba, providing guests with more opportunities to connect as a group and one-on-one with activities designed to enhance contact with the Cuban people and experience Cuban culture. Havana will also be a stop on the Seven Seas Navigator’s April 25, 2020, voyage.
As part of the Regent experience, guests will have a wide selection of excursions in Cuba included in the price. In Havana, passengers can follow in the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway and learn about the city's Baroque, Neoclassical, and Renaissance architecture. In Cienfuegos, passengers can visit the Valley of the Sugar Mills and Trinidad, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites recognized for their colonial architecture. In Santiago de Cuba, they will discover the context that changed the course of Cuban history, where passengers can visit San Juan Hill and learn about the 19th-century battle that ended Spanish rule.
