Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has announced that the Hanseatic Inspiration, the second of the new exploration ships being built by the Vard/Fincantieri shipyards, and due for delivery in October 2019, will serve both its natural market, Germany, and international markets.
The first of the two ships, Hanseatic Nature, which will be delivered in April 2019, will only be destined for the German market.
In its inaugural season, the Hanseatic Inspiration will offer itineraries in polar regions, such as the Arctic and Antarctica, and in warmer regions, such as the Amazon and the Great Lakes, as well as the Chilean Fjords, the Azores, and Cape Verde. The inaugural cruise will depart from Antwerp in October 2019 and return to Tenerife 15 days later.
This ship has a capacity for only 230 guests and features onboard amenities such as the Ocean Academy, where passengers can use interactive technology to better understand the regions they visit. Peruvian and Japanese cuisine will have their own themed restaurants on board, in addition to the main restaurant with seating for 178 and a bistro with 184 seats. A 235-square-meter spa and a 100-square-meter gym are among the other onboard facilities.
