Madrid, November 6, 2017 – Azamara Club Cruises, the luxury cruise line of Royal Caribbean International, has announced that its new ship, Azamara Pursuit, will debut on August 3, 2018, from Barcelona and has revealed that it will make stops in the ports of Valencia and Cadiz.
Azamara Club Cruises has added these three Spanish cities to its Destination Immersion program, which aims to provide passengers with access to the world's most exotic destinations and an exclusive onboard experience. This inaugural Azamara Pursuit will last 10 nights, departing from Barcelona and sailing to Southampton, England. In addition to the aforementioned Spanish ports, the ship will call at Portimão, Lisbon, and Leixões, all three Portuguese cities; St. Peter's Port, the capital of Guernsey (Channel Islands, UK); and will conclude its voyage in Southampton.
The onboard amenities will be countless: from fine Italian restaurants and more casual eateries to acupuncture treatments and high-end jewelry boutiques. “We are delighted to announce the new destinations for Azamara Pursuit, which will allow passengers to visit regions all over the world,” said Larry Pimentel, President and CEO of Azamara Club Cruises. Azamara Pursuit will visit such captivating cities as Agadir (Morocco), Samos (Greece), Maceió (Brazil), Lima (Peru), San Antonio (Chile), and Fowey (United Kingdom). The new ship, Azamara Pursuit, has been designed with the same objective as its sister ships , Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest: to take its passengers to unique ports inaccessible to larger cruise ships, all while surrounded by the most exclusive luxury. On Azamara Pursuit's maiden voyage, Spain welcomes passengers: a stroll down Las Ramblas or through the Gràcia district to admire Gaudí's facades in Barcelona; A swim in the fine sandy beaches of Cadiz; or a day at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, are some of the attractions offered by the Spanish cities where the ship will stop.
On other routes, the Azamara Pursuit will visit fascinating European destinations such as Reykjavik, Iceland, where you can explore the dormant volcano Thrihnukagigur; or Rhodes, Greece, where passengers will have the opportunity to attend a performance of a Sophocles tragedy at the Tafros Theatre. And there's more: Dettifoss waterfall, the largest in Iceland; or the Monastery of St. John in the Prodromos region of Greece; are just a few examples of the quality of these ports of call. South America also plays a prominent role in the cruises offered by the Azamara Pursuit. Passengers can stargaze in the Atacama Desert in Chile; explore the Casa de Aliaga in Lima, built in 1536 during the Spanish conquest of Peru; and immerse themselves in the beauty of the fjords of Chile and Ushuaia in Argentina.
