According to information received by State Ports from the Port Authorities, the strike is being observed by nearly 100% of workers, except in the Port Authorities of Cartagena; and in those of Motril and Vilagarcía where no personnel have been assigned as there is no ship in operation.
During the hours of activity, normal work rhythms have been reported without any low performance being observed during these hours.
Across all Port Authorities, 1,518 staff members have been appointed, of whom 1,394 have joined the strike. Additionally, special shifts (outside of normal hours) exist to handle certain traffic, where the general situation is practically the same as the shifts designated as "normal" (311 workers are affected by these shifts, with 281 participating in the strike).
Almost 100% of the minimum services have been provided
In general, the mandated services are being provided. Across all Port Authorities, 124 personnel have been assigned to minimum service requirements.
It is particularly noteworthy that the minimum services, set at 100%, were met in the supply traffic to the islands, Ceuta and Melilla, and also in the inter-island traffic of both goods and passengers.
In fact, today there is greater confidence among port operators due to the effective implementation of minimum services and the achievement of normal operational performance during non-strike hours. For this reason, the number of dockworkers called to work for today's first shift has increased by 36% compared to the strike day on Monday, June 5th. There were 1,113 dockworkers called last Monday, compared to 1,518 today, Wednesday. The case of Algeciras is particularly noteworthy, with the number of workers on duty increasing from 101 on Monday to 411 today.
Peaceful gatherings in most cases
The strike day is proceeding without any significant incidents, except in Las Palmas, a port where performance has been reported to be lower, around 50% of the usual minimum services.
Furthermore, the Coordination and Studies Office of the State Secretariat for Security has reported:
- P. Bilbao. – About eighty (80) people gathered in front of the dockworkers' building on Paseo Reina Victoria in Santurce, and rockets were launched.
- P. Almería: 15 people gathered peacefully at the Ribera-Poniente dock next to 6 vehicles, NO INCIDENTS.
- P. Motril: Approximately 11 people gathered at the entrance to the UGT union offices in the port area. Their demonstration was peaceful. NO INCIDENTS.
- Port of Alicante: Approximately 20 dockworkers are concentrated at docks 15 and 17. NO INCIDENTS.
- Finally, gatherings with banners and manifestos have been reported in front of several port authorities, without major incidents or altercations.
- Other ports: So far, NO INCIDENTS.
