Designed to ignite the imagination of avid travelers, Silversea's World Cruise 2019 – a 132-day voyage from San Francisco to London – is now available for booking. Accommodating aboard the elegant Silver Whisper, guests will travel in luxurious comfort to 52 ports in 31 countries across five continents. Numerous overnight stays will also allow guests ample time to explore the most iconic destinations.
This journey, titled “The Tale of Tales,” offers innovative destinations and unique features, including an overnight stay in Tokyo with two full days to explore the city, a circumnavigation of Africa with an overnight stay in Cape Town, and two nights in Bordeaux to savor the region’s renowned wines. There is also a stop in Saint-Malo, gateway to Mont Saint-Michel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Guests will also have the opportunity to cruise the Guadalquivir River in Seville and experience Bilbao’s vibrant cultural scene with a visit to the Guggenheim Museum before the journey concludes in London, a world-renowned financial center and one of the great capital cities of the world.

With this unique voyage, Silversea is delighted to invite nine writers aboard to explore the unknown and the wondrous. Each will create a short story inspired by regions of sublime natural beauty and exotic cultures. The result will be an exclusive anthology of the voyage, an unprecedented portrait, “The Tale of Tales.” The writers already confirmed to contribute their stories are Paul Theroux, travel writer, novelist, and winner of the James Tait Prize for Fiction; and Pico Iyer, novelist, travel writer, and essayist since 1986 for Time, Harper’s, The New York Times, and The New York Review of Books.
