The Norwegian Sky, the first Norwegian Cruise Line ship to sail to Cuba, made its inaugural call in Havana yesterday. Norwegian Cruise Line executives were aboard to celebrate the voyage, including Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings President and CEO Frank Del Rio and Norwegian Cruise Line President and CEO Andy Stuart.
“This is a historic day for Norwegian Cruise Line, for our guests, and for our travel agents, as we expand our horizons to the natural beauty, friendly people, and historical treasures of Cuba,” said Frank Del Rio. “As we entered Havana harbor, we were welcomed by the Cuban people with open arms and the excitement to share their incredible culture with our guests.”.

Yesterday's call was the first of the Norwegian Sky's weekly cruises from Miami to Cuba. The ship will make a total of 53 four-day voyages to Cuba, 52 of which will include an overnight stay in the history- and culture-rich capital city of Havana. The Norwegian Sky will transport passengers to the very heart of Havana and offer them the opportunity to visit historic sites such as Old Havana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, see incredible art, and hear vibrant live local music, as well as take tours accompanied by Cuba's welcoming and friendly people. Norwegian will also offer a selection of 14 OFAC-compliant half-day and full-day shore excursions where Norwegian Sky passengers will have the opportunity to enjoy a farm-to-table culinary experience, explore the flora and fauna of Soroa, see modern Havana in a classic American car, and much more.
Norwegian Sky's voyages to Cuba will also include a stop at Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian's private island in the Bahamas.
