Silversea has unveiled a series of interior changes to the Silver Cloud. These renovations, which will take place between August and October of this year, will transform the ship into a vessel ready for ice expeditions. The Silver Cloud, which joined the Silversea fleet in 1994, will offer the luxury of a classic Silversea ship combined with the strength and maneuverability required for expedition cruising.
The renovations will highlight the luxurious design of Silver Cloud 's public spaces, including the terrace, restaurant, Observation Lounge , Panorama Lounge , and Venetian Lounge . The extensive refurbishment will include new features for the Observation Lounge, such as new teak flooring and upholstery, new lighting on the terrace, and new carpeting and upholstery in the restaurant. Silver Cloud will also feature a new fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment.
In addition to the interior changes, the Silver Cloud's hull will be reinforced, enabling it to explore polar waters. Its transformation into a polar expedition vessel will provide travelers with the luxury, style, and comfort of classic Silversea ships.
The ship will have a capacity of 260 people in non-polar regions and only 200 people in polar regions, meaning guests can enjoy personalized and exclusive service. The limited capacity in polar regions also means that all guests can disembark at the same time to explore each region.

When Antonio Lefebvre launched the Silver Cloud in 1994, he set new standards for luxury cruising. His son, Manfredi Lefebvre, became Chairman of Silversea in 2001, and since then the fleet has expanded from four to eight ships, with a ninth currently under construction. This expansion has included the introduction of expeditions with the launch of the Silver Explorer in 2008.
The Silver Cloud will also feature a team of 19 experts dedicated to ensuring guests have the best possible travel experiences. Lectures, presentations, and readings by experts in the theater will also be streamed to all suites.
