Ahead of its launch this April, Silversea has revealed details of the crew who will provide bespoke service to guests aboard the Silver Muse during its inaugural season. The ship will be captained by Alessandro Zanello, the youngest officer ever appointed captain in the Silversea fleet.
Captain Zanello has been with Silversea since 1999 and has served aboard every ship in the company's fleet. Silver Muse will be the second maiden voyage Zanello has worked on during his 18 years with Silversea, having been second in command for the launch of Silver Spirit in 2009.
The kitchen will be led by Executive Chef Anne-Mari Cornelius, who joined Silversea in 2005 and has served as Executive Chef on two Silver Whisper world cruises. Cornelius will oversee all kitchen staff and be responsible for maintaining Silversea's high culinary standards across its eight onboard restaurants.
In addition, cruise director Jimmy Kovel will oversee onboard activities and entertainment during its inaugural season. This includes culinary demonstrations and performances by The Voices of Silversea in the Venetian Lounge theater, as well as jazz and blues performances in the intimate Silver Note restaurant. Kovel has been with Silversea since 2009 and has served aboard Silver Shadow, Silver Cloud, and Silver Wind.

Other key members of the Silver Muse team include Chief of Staff Sergio Topazio; Chief Engineer Michele Barone and Hotel Director Paolo Percivale.
The Silver Muse will visit 34 countries and more than 130 ports in 2017, redefining ocean travel and becoming the ultimate expression of excellence. The addition of this new ship to the Silversea fleet will not only expand the fleet to nine ships but also raise the bar in the luxury cruise market with a host of innovations designed to meet the comfort, service, and quality needs of the world's most discerning travelers.
